You might be wondering why your district receives a Lumea status update in a long email, with a lot of numbers and action items about Medicaid periodically from your MSB Program Specialist. There’s actually a good reason for that!
We all get them – the constant barrage of marketing and sales messages that just seem to drift into the white noise of emails that pile up in our inbox every day. It’s easy to to just delete or mark as “read” when you know they have no useful information in them. But when you come across a Lumea status update, it’s worth pausing and reading. It is specifically designed to show you how to maximize your reimbursements and make well-informed decisions when it comes to Medicaid administration in your district.
As part of the service we provide to you, we periodically analyze the activity in your Lumea account to identify any potential barriers to accessing federal dollars for Medicaid covered health-related services. Your Program Specialist collaborates with your Claims Analyst and together they scour your account and find the areas that could use improvement.
Here are a few of the things they are looking for:
- Are all of your service providers documenting their sessions in a timely fashion?
- Has the Lumea Administrator indicated students are Ok to Bill?
- How are you comparing with last year in terms of the Medicaid reimbursement you have received?
These are just a few of the areas we review and report to you throughout the year.
We feel it’s important, so it’s why we occasionally provide overviews of your account, along with action steps to maximize reimbursement and/or optimize compliance. Your Claims Analyst provides much more detailed reports more frequently to the district, but the report that is sent to the director periodically is intended to provide a high-level overview of account activity. The intention of these reports is to start a conversation and create a map to show you where you are and a path to improvement.
- Do you know where you are at in terms of Medicaid reimbursement?
- What can we do to help you improve?
- Are there specific challenges you are facing that are holding you back from maximizing reimbursement?
Your team at MSB is committed to supporting your district with meaningful, timely information. We hope you find these reports helpful and meaningful. If not, please share any ideas for making them better! To discuss these reports in more detail, please contact your Program Specialist.
